Children's participation in Country Affairs
Children Participation in Country Affairs
-Adeetya Jain
We have not used young national talent well. In fact, we
have even failed in recognizing national talent. We have to provide a platform
for all children to express their viewpoint. It could be any normal kid. It is
not important that only child-prodigies are considered more valuable to the
country. Intellect comes from beneath. It just has to be removed. Most of the
times, a child is not able to figure out his talent and miss-judges. This is
losing a talent. It’s just like a petal peeling of a flower. But, let’s get to
the main point.
The main subject is that how can we initiate children
participation in the government and why should we do so. Children can be a
guiding force to many decisions. They can act as a medium to the government and
local people. These children cannot only be used by the government but can be a
part of many other government institutions too. I encourage many such
organizations which are working on child development.
MUN is a platform
where children share their diplomatic ideas. But the real disadvantage is that
the local boys or the needy who cannot afford such events. Thus, the government
can initiate a monthly local MUN or a round table discussion. There is one more
disadvantage. The MUN does not hold much wattage. The government can also
initiate national MUN’s in which selected children can participate. The
viewpoints discussed in the event should be considered by the Indian diplomats.
Many people would question that are children ready for
making such decisions. I always believe that children can put up points on the
table. They may be correct or wrong. The last decision will always be made by
the government. They can act as a deciding factor.
These national talents are national jewels. One would not
want to lose them. I also suggest that the government should make a whole
committee who are appointed to find national talent.
